cAPS lOCK part 2

Ok – So there is a better utility out the to manage the caps lock and other keys. It is called KeyTweak (Thanks Alan and Max). KeyTweak gives you a nice GUI and helps you remap any key to any other – Including those odd keys (Like forward and back). After you make your changes you need to reboot and you are good to go.

You can download it at http://webpages.charter.net/krumsick/

The cAPS lOCK key is DEAD! Long live the Caps Lock Key!

I don’t know about you – But I hate the Caps Lock key. I never use it and occasionally I mistake it for the shift key. I always wanted it to be something else or at least not be there. I have found (thanks to Hillel) that there are alternatives.

Thanks to Josh for the Caps Lock photo.

Unlocker

Have you ever tried to delete a file or folder and be told by Windows that you can’t because the file is in use. Your options were to try and find the process that was locking the file or reboot. There is a better way – There is a free utility called unlocker that unlocks these files or folders. Just install the program and you can right click on the locked file and choose unlocker – You can then have unlocker unlock the file and delete it. It is a great utility and I highly recommend it.

You can download unlocker from: http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/

Pocketmod: The low tech PDA.

Ever have a need for a piece of paper – even though you have a PDA? Or wish you had a calendar handy just to glance at – even though you are surrounded by computers hundreds of time more powerful than the ones that sent man to the moon? I have – enter PocketMod.

PocketMod is a free online application that creates a CUSTOMIZED single piece of paper – that when folded makes a nifty little pocket sized PAA (Personal Analog Assistant).

IPTV

I have been watching a great IPTV show for the last several months – it is called hak.5. The episodes come out on the fifth of every month and feature segments on hacking, moding, gaming and coding.

It is done very well. The hosts are knowledgeable and fun to watch. You can download the show from http://hak5.org

I have learned some really cool tricks from the show. Did you know you can get a command prompt during windows XP setup? If you are interested in cool tips, tricks, hacks and mods – check out the show.
